Four acre garden created around C16 house (not open). Formal structure creates variety of gardens each with own colour theme and character. Planting is mainly of perennials many in their late summer and early autumn hues, particularly the asters.
Created 40 years ago around a Tudor house (not open), this quality garden has been extensively filmed by all major TV channels and also Japanese TV.
Designed by the owner, Lesley Jenkins, this outstanding garden combines a strong structure with clever planting combinations using perennials. The early spring shows of anemones, hellebores and trilliums are followed by tulips, aquilegias and oriental poppies. The summer roses herald the arrival of the delphiniums which in turn give way to the dominance of stately hollyhocks and vibrant phlox. August sees the hot garden ignited which still burns when the asters and euonymus seed capsules arrive in September.
Featured on Monty Don's British Gardens- Ep3 (2025).
Admission ÂŁ10. Children free. Light lunches from 12:00. Cream teas from 14:00. Plant sale.

LEGO Walk â Fundraiser for Severn Hospice
Take part in our special LEGO Walk and make a real difference in the lives of families in our community. Every step you take helps Severn Hospice continue its incredible work, providing compassionate care, comfort, and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones.Registration is free, but participants are asked to confirm their place with a minimum donation of ÂŁ100 (or ÂŁ50 for children under 16).
The walk is open to everyone, including children aged 5 and over. So, gather all your family and friends, walk in memory or in support and help us raise much needed funds for Severn Hospice.
Beyond the walk, thereâs plenty of entertainment for everyone! Enjoy:

More InformationOne of Shropshire's newest sporting events roars into life on Saturday 19 September as the inaugural Hills Ford Stages Rally Festival arrives at Weston Park.
The Rally Festival forms the opening day of the Hills Ford Stages Rally weekend, beginning with the ceremonial start in Shrewsbury before around 150 rally crews head to Weston Park to tackle four spectacular special stages, including the famous Weston Park Water Splash, with almost five hours of thrilling rally action.
There's much more than motorsport too. Visitors can enjoy local trade stands, food and refreshments, family attractions, the PATHWAYS â Discover Motorsport education zone, the DriveWize road safety initiative, and opportunities to meet the volunteers who make rallying possible.
The rally continues on Sunday 20 September with a full day of closed-road competition across five stages in South Shropshire, each run twice, as crews battle for overall victory. This year's event welcomes competitors from eight rally championships, featuring everything from iconic historic rally cars to the very latest Rally2 machinery. Several championships feature double-header rounds, while others reach their season finale at the Hills Ford Stages, where national championship titles will be decided.
As a not-for-profit event, spectator parking at Weston Park is managed by local charities and community groups, with all parking donations going directly to support their work.
Advance tickets are available for the Weston Park Rally Festival on Saturday 19 September. Sunday's closed-road rally uses separate spectator viewing areas, with parking available at designated locations. Details of spectator areas and parking for Sunday will be published closer to the event on the Hills Ford Stages website and Facebook page.

More InformationLights Out Events are pleased to be hosting Belinda OâHooley, a renowned pianist, singer and composer, probably best known as one half of OâHooley & Tidow, who rose to international prominence for writing and performing the theme to the hit TV series Gentleman Jack(which also led to an acting role for Belinda on the iconic TV drama Happy Valley). Formerly a member of Rachel Unthank and the Winterset (now The Unthanks), Belinda has performed with her partner Heidi Tidow to a very appreciative audience at the Hermon Chapel before in 2018. Drawing on her heritage in the west of Ireland, Belindaâs music showcases her unique ,minimalist and deeply expressive style. The first woman in her family to reclaim a previously all-male tradition, she has found the freedom to interpret the music of her ancestors in her very own, singular way.
Belinda is also known for her inventive, minimalist, sometimes flamboyant accompanying of folk luminaries including Rufus Wainwright and Nic Jones. It promises to be a great night's entertainment. -

A one-day course designed to help you build confidence in the outdoors and start navigating for yourself â without relying on apps, guesswork, or blind optimism đDo you love getting out for a walk but donât quite feel confident heading out solo? Maybe you follow routes on an app or a guidebook but arenât sure how to properly read a map or use a compass?
This course is here to change that. By the end of the day, youâll have the skills (and confidence) to start making your own decisions out on the hill â and actually trust them.

Weâll be based in the beautiful Carding Mill Valley, right on the edge of the Long Mynd â a perfect setting to learn navigation with a mix of open hills, clear features, and plenty of real-life terrain to practise in.đ§ What Youâll Learn

Taking grid references
Orientating the map properly

Huge marquees and tipis will be packed with local brewers, distillers and drinks producers serving beers, ciders, cocktails, wines and spirits. Alongside the drinks, expect live bands, oompah, street food, a silent disco, carpool karaoke and plenty of opportunities to don the lederhosen.
The live music line-up includes Two Blank Pages, Monsdale, Hot Rox, The Dirty Rockin Scoundrels, Wild Candy, Audio Thieves, Ego Friendly, Skaburst and Asparagus & The Kilburn Habit.On Saturday, the Comedy Club welcomes a fantastic line-up including Daliso Chaponda, Mandy Muden, Duncan Oakley, Christian Reilly, Jo Enright and James Dowdeswell, with Tony Vino returning as MC.
VIP tickets are also available, offering access to a dedicated area with premium toilets and views of the live music stage.

Created in 2006 on 50 acres of unspoilt, pastureland scattered with mature oaks by John and Liz Ravenscroft. Located on a hilly area overlooking the Cheshire plain with views to the Pennines in the north, the Peckforton Hills to the northwest and the Breiddons to the southwest. It is a showcase of specimen trees with magnolias, peonies, dahlias, lilacs, deciduous azaleas and North American oaks.
The autumn colour is amazing.
