Work with Richard Edwards and learn how to paint a loose watercolour in three stages.
In the morning you will be painting harbour boats. In the afternoon you will be painting the English Bridge in Shrewsbury.
Throughout the day Richard will cover a range of watercolour techniques and detail on how to design and execute a painting using all the tricks of the trade.
Where possible please bring your own watercolours, sketch pad and your own favourite brushes. A large mop or flat, medium mop, small rigger and needle point brush would be ideal. ArtShack also has a wide selection of brushes available if you do not have your own.
Suitable for complete beginners as well as more experienced artists. Please bring lunch!
Born in Bearwood Smethwick, West Midlands, Richard went to Bournville college of Art and later did his degree in Sheffield. He worked in local government and more recently freelanced for Arty Party in Telford and Shrewsbury supporting sessions for learning disabled adults. He returned to painting in a more dedicated fashion a couple of years ago, just before the pandemic and stumbled on the medium of watercolour almost by accident, when he bought some by mistake!
