Iscoyd Park, the award-winning country house wedding and events venue, will welcome Joanne Harris (MBE), the highly acclaimed author of Chocolat and other modern classics as the next speaker at their ongoing series of Supper Clubs on Thursday 2nd April. Tickets for the event cost £60 per person, which includes drinks and canapés upon arrival, a wonderful talk by Joanne and a hardback signed copy of her latest novel, The Strawberry Thief, as well as an exciting two-course dinner prepared by Iscoyd’s Michelin trained team which has been inspired by Joanne’s very own recipes and passion for chocolate.
As guests arrive at the historic 18th-century Grade II*-listed Georgian house, they will be welcomed with a selection of chocolate inspired drinks and canapés including a bitter chocolate and orange pudding and milk chocolate and cardamom cones. This will be followed by Joanne’s exciting talk which will take place in the Library. Guests will also have the chance to ask the highly acclaimed author any questions that may have at the end of the talk.
Discussing the inspiration behind her critically acclaimed Chocolat series, Joanne will touch upon themes of enchantment and realism, as she focuses on her own passion for chocolate, France and cookery, all of which are of central importance to much of her work.
Following Joanne’s fascinating talk, guests will head over to The Coach House where they will feast on a number of delicious chocolate themed dishes prepared by Iscoyd Park’s Michelin trained kitchen team. The dinner will include such delights as “Brioche Juliette”, made from 75% chocolate, the recipe for which can be found in Joanne’s The Little Book of Chocolat, as well as a loin of Shropshire venison served with a choux farci, roasted celeriac and cocoa nib.
