“A Garden Well Placed. A designer’s Harmony Between House and Garden”
Iscoyd Park, the Shropshire-based private country house wedding and events venue looks forward to welcoming highly acclaimed British Garden Designer, Xa Tollemache, to talk at their latest Supper Club on Thursday 17th October.
Hosted within the luxurious settings of the 18th-century Grade II*-listed Georgian house, guests will be welcomed with a selection of drinks and canapés in the Drawing Room followed by a fascinating talk from Xa, who is the brains and flair behind Iscoyd Park’s beautifully extensive gardens. Xa will touch upon her career designing gardens all over the world, her triumph at Chelsea Flower Show and some of her top designing tips.
Having redesigned and worked tirelessly on her own spectacular gardens at Helmingham Hall in Suffolk, Xa gained much of the experience and knowledge that has earned her the reputation she has today. Her first appearance at The Chelsea Flower Show in 1997 won her a Gold Medal for her garden, which had been commissioned by the Evening Standard since which she has completed many outstanding projects both in the UK and abroad.
Her style is both classic and contemporary. “I don’t think of myself as having a particular style” she says. “But I use the influence of the house, landscape and the lives of the people living there as a start button for the design that will follow.”
Xa has been instrumental in helping Phil and Susie Godsal, owners of Iscoyd Park, develop their gardens, virtually from scratch, since they took over the house ten years ago.
Xa’s talk at Iscoyd Park will be followed by a garden themed dinner in Iscoyd’s recently renovated Coach House, prepared by their fantastic in-house team – lead by Michelin trained Head Chef, David Cox and their newly appointed Development Chef, Gareth Jones, previously Head Chef of Chester Grosvenor Brasserie, in Chester.
From goat’s curd and olive flower pots with pickled carrot to slow roasted duck breast and hay toasted panna cotta, guests can expect to feast on a number of delicious garden themed dishes throughout the evening.
Director of Iscoyd Park Phil Godsal, comments: “We are so looking forward to welcoming Xa back to Iscoyd. Xa has had a fascinating career and created beautiful gardens all over the world. We have always been so grateful to her for the wonderful gardens she has designed at Iscoyd and we are very happy that she is coming to share her expertise at one of our supper clubs. It promises to be a wonderful evening – educational, fascinating and delicious!”
