The award-winning Folk duo Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin, by now well-known to audiences under their recently adopted new name Edgelarks, have arranged for their flightpath to take them past Oswestry with a landing at The Hermon scheduled for March 2020! A spirited duo full of integrity and exquisite musicianship that is well-worth the attention of any Folk aficionado!!
Extraordinary…I was blown away by them! – Tom Robinson, BBC 6Music
“Songs that linger in the memory held together by fine musicianship.” – Daily Telegraph
“Rather fine, delicate and delicious – based in Devon but their songs resonate throughout these islands.” – Iain Anderson, BBC Scotland
After a very successful crowd-funding campaign their new duo album Feather was released in 2019, followed by prolific touring activities. A busy collaborative period has also included work as part of the acclaimed Gigspanner Big Band featuring members of Bellowhead and Steeleye Span, such as the amazing violinist Peter Knight who played The Hermon with his trio in 2019. In the same year, the BBC Radio 2 Festival In A Day saw Hannah and Phillip performing to a Hyde Park crowd of 50,000 – supporting Kylie Minogue!
Described by The Guardian as subtle, atmospheric and bravely original, this exceptional duo combines exquisite folk with influences as diverse as the blues and Indian classical slide guitar. A strong roots-sound, original songwriting, stomping beatbox harmonica, soaring fiddle and vocal harmonies come together in a formidable live show, taking audiences on a story telling journey around a new musical landscape.
