On Friday 3rd July the Shrewsbury Town Sleep out, sponsored by Shropshire Homes will be back for 2020 at Montgomery Waters Meadow Stadium to help raise money and awareness for homelessness across Shropshire.
The event will see participants spending the night sleeping outside at Montgomery Waters Meadow with only a sleeping bag to raise awareness about homelessness issues across the county. A report from Shelter in November 2018 indicated that there are now over 500 people in Shropshire who are currently homeless.
This will be a family friendly event, encouraging children, scouts groups, beavers etc, to get involved and help us raise awareness of this growing issue.
Funds raised from the event will go towards both the Shrewsbury Ark and helping us here at Shrewsbury Town in the Community put together our ‘Off the Streets F.C.’ Scheme.
For more information about the event head to – www.shrewsburytowninthecommunity.com/events/shrewsbury-town-sleepout-2020/
Join us on 25th September to take on the Step up challenge🏟.
This challenge will see participants taking on the challenge of climbing up and down the 1,780 steps of the Shrewsbury Town F.C. Stadium. Spanning 56 floors which is equivalent of climbing up to the top of the Eiffel Tower!
Whether you want to run, walk, sprint or jog up the 1,780 steps, this event will be for everyone to get involved in.
Along with the cost of entry, we are asking participants to raise a small fund-raising target of £20. All the hard-earned fundraising money will go directly to support our Mental Health project Heads Up.
