The Woodvilles are a living history and battle re-enactment group covering the “Wars of the Roses” period
Founded in the early nineties the group draws members from all over the United Kingdom. The group has gone from strength to strength in recent years, becoming increasingly more ‘authentic’ and gaining many more members. try to not only present “living history” and combat displays but also to have an abundance of background information, so they may explain to the public what it was really like living in the fifteenth century.They are supported at this event by members of several other Households of the Wars of the Roses Federation. Lace War will present a living history displays, British Government and Jacobite/French, giving displays of 18th century Army Drill and daily life.
Show and tell display – the Army of Bonnie Prince Charlie, their clothing, equipment, weapons and methods of fighting, including firing display with commentary.
Show and tell display – the Army of George 11, their uniforms, equipment, weapons and methods of fighting including firing display with commentary.
Skirmish display with commentary.
A light hearted look at life in a small rural town in the 1940s. As you walk around the town, you will be captivated by Re-Enactors and Entertainers in period costume, vintage vehicle displays, trade stands, music and dancing; all with a 1940’s theme. There will also be special activities for children.
