Join Milly Rees to learn how to add greater depth to your cooking to make it more delicious and memorable. Turn up the flavours to make every dish the most delicious it can be. We will learn how to layer seasoning and add depth using simple techniques and ingredients. By doing a lot of tasting along the way we will discover how knowing when to add a pinch of this or a dash of that can make a huge difference to even the most humble supper. As usual, everything you make you can take home so bring a selection of spill-proof containers.£35 per person, booking essential.
Mortimer Forest covers 1000 hectares of diverse mini habitats, with ancient oak, conifer woodland, beech, birch and plenty of bilberries. This wide variety of trees gives us a very diverse selection of tasty edible mushrooms throughout late summer and autumn.
We’ll meet at the Black Pool car park where the course starts with a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes.
Then we’ll set off on a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the forest, teaching you how to identify the different edible and poisonous plants and mushrooms we find, stoping along the way for some seasonal homemade refreshments such as our lovely wild mushroom soup.
We’ll round the day off with a wild food lunch based on homemade treats and what we have found during the course.
After the course, we will email you a list of everything we talk about on the day to help you to remember what you have learnt.
Adults £50, under 16’s £25, under 12’s free.
