All Stretton Amateur Dramatic Society proudly presents Dracula: The pantomime!
Deep in the Shropshire Hills lies the home of Count Dracula – a creepy castle full of scary monsters and beastly bats (All Stretton Village Hall). Join our Count as he goes in search of a new bride, assisted by a strange hairy creature named Boris. Can they be stopped by Rosie Glow (a big bloke in a dress), a Fairy (named Garlic), and two young lads (Jack and Dick) who have wandered into the wrong pantomime by mistake?
Beethoven’s only opera is a masterpiece, an uplifting story of risk and triumph. In this new production, conducted by Antonio Pappano, Jonas Kaufmann plays the political prisoner Florestan, and Lise Davidsen his wife Leonore (disguised as ‘Fidelio’) who daringly sets out to rescue him.
Set in strong counter point are the ingredients of domestic intrigue, determined love and the cruelty of an oppressive regime.
Liam Scarlett’s glorious production of Swan Lake, new in 2018, returns for its first revival. While remaining faithful to the Marius Petipa/Lev Ivanov text, Scarlett’s additional choreography and John Macfarlane’s magnificent designs breathe new life into what is arguably the best-known and most-loved classical ballet.
