Shropshire Pub in the Park is to be held on the 7th & 8th June at Telford’s QEII Arena
Shropshire Festivals are taking all the best bits about going to the pub – a fantastic range of drinks, awesome people to socialise with, great food and fun games – and taking it outside to the sunshine and magnifying the experience to festival sized!
This brand-new festival for the county promises to give you that summertime feeling and plenty of merriment.
There will be around 150 drinks to choose from, with real ales served up by local brewers, an extensive gin den, wine bar, pimms tent, cocktails, fizz, and delicious street food featuring every kind of cuisine.
The comedy line-up has now been announced and includes Vince Atta and his multi-track looper creating on-the-spot hip hop/reggae/techno comic pieces, and Stephen Carlin who has earned critical acclaim with his insightful style.
The music line-up has also just been revealed. Friday’s acts include Lost the Plot with their energetic covers and bizarre audience participation antics. Friday’s headline act are the Dirty Rockin’ Scoundrels, performing the best rock ‘n’ roll music from the 50s and 60s.
Saturday’s music line-up includes the soulful sound of Emma Linley with her bluesy, raw vocal tones, Custard Connection changing up the pace with dance floor filling classics, and The Paprika Blues Band with a combination of lively original music and covers. Headlining the Saturday show are four-piece funk, pop and blues cover band Bouncing Betty, with a varied setlist and infectious sounds promising to keep you singing and dancing all night long!

This will be Pale Fire’s first gig in a year where they will be playing new material. The band’s songs have been heavily influenced by the society we now live in focusing on difficult relationships, political charlatans and the underbelly of modern life.
Ray, Jon, Rob, and Mike who have previously played in Blue Angel, The Hormones, No Excuse, Descending Escalators, Helter Skelter and Trouble will be joined by friends for the Forge Urban Revival benefit gig to raise funds for the purchase of music equipment for the Forge Urban Revival live music programme at The Wakes.

An extraordinary band with the ability to combine various of musical styles in a concept of modern jazz. In his compositions Örjan Hultén moves effortlessly across boundaries and musical genres. Here and there Middle eastern and Balkan traits can be heard while one can distinguish traces from Wayne Shorter or Joni Mitchell in other parts. Örjan Hultén’s Orion is featuring four of Sweden’s top musicians, each of them a well-known and celebrated musicians/bandleader in his own right.
Tickets are 15.00 per person includes ticket and jazz supper. Supper will be a single course and will include a choice from 3 dishes all freshly cooked on the evening – examples NOT-SO-CAJUN SHRIMP (Pasta and Shrimp in a Cajun cream sauce): JAMBALAYA (Chicken and Smoked Sausage in savoury rice)
