ONE NIGHT OF ELVIS – LEE MEMPHIS KING
There are Elvis tributes….. and then there’s Lee Memphis King.
Lee Memphis King, Europe’s most successful Elvis Presley tribute artist, recreates the essence of the King with consummate ease and an almost unbelievable combination of stunningly accurate vocals and incredible passion in every performance.
Over the last 10 years as Lee has toured his ‘One Night of Elvis’ he has picked up numerous accolades and has headlined and sold out some of the most prestigious venues across the UK and beyond. In August 2016 he completed a sell out concert tour of Israel, performing to over 8000 fans.
In this latest production, Lee Memphis King portrays Elvis Presley at his peak celebrating the iconic ‘Vegas Years’ from 1969 – 1977. Resplendent in the most authentic costumes from Elvis’s performance and an orchestra backing this incredible performer prepare to be taken back in time to see Elvis in the way it was.
This brand new production is dedicated entirely to the ‘Vegas Years’ when Elvis would perform in Las Vegas and tour throughout the US and Canada – the definitive record of these performances are contained in the films ‘Elvis- That’s the Way It Is’, ‘Elvis On Tour’ and the ‘Aloha from Hawaii’ concert.
The show is enhanced by an orchestra of world class musicians and backing vocalists coupled with impressive video screen projection mapping out Elvis’s life and music.
Lee Memphis King recreates it all with stunning authenticity – the voice and equally important for Lee, the passion and energy that Elvis put into his songs. He leaves audiences in no doubt that they are witnessing the world’s No 1 Elvis Tribute Artist. Pure entertainment and Pure Presley.

He’s the man with the sunglasses and the black suit who delivered some of the world’s darkest and most emotional ballads, yet Texas-born Roy Orbison remains one of the most distinctive looking, and sounding performers in modern music, despite dying 30 years ago leaving others to bring his music to the concert stage.
But Barry Steele, who takes on the role in The Roy Orbison Story, comes with very great credentials and a genuine admiration for the Big “O”. Now he is set to put the rock back into ‘Roy Orbison’ as he takes to the stage to commemorate this legend in The Roy Orbison Story 30 Year Special.
Expect what is being billed as an upbeat and contemporary slant on Orbison’s legacy, as Barry Steele and Friends take audiences on a musical journey from the early Sun years right through to the late 1980s, when Orbison was experiencing a huge resurgence in popularity and worked with Bono, Bruce Springsteen and others including super group the Traveling Wilburys alongside former Beatle George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne.
So get ready for a night of solid gold 60s hits and 80s contemporary as the Roy Orbison Story celebrate the musical legacy of The Big O. As well as the toe tapping sound of the music giant that is Roy Orbison, you’ll hear the fantastic Barry Steele perform songs written by Roy Orbison, but never performed by him!
The production also features chart busting hits originally made famous by the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Jeff Lynne & ELO, George Harrison, Del Shannon and The Spencer Davis Group; Come and see us as there’s plenty of rock with Roy! From Only the Lonely to The Traveling Wilburys, Barry Steele has been stunning audiences across the globe with his uncanny ability to recreate the vocal talents of the legendary Roy Orbison. This unmissable show will take you on a musical journey in time – don’t miss out!

N-Ex-T (New Experimental Tones)! For this collection of concerts we have drawn inspiration from the underground scene and publications such as The Wire. N-Ex-T explores the adventurous nature of live performance through the mediums of composition, improvisation, motion, sound manipulation as well as the abstract visual and avant-garde. This month we have…
Possibly the wildest ride you’ll experience at Hermon Chapel for some time, Croatian-based didgeridoo musician and composer Dubravko Lapaine is one of the most revered didgeridoo performers in the world.
He is a genuine avant-garde perfomer, who has devoted hos life to strict technical training and uncompromising search for the pinpoint precision of sound to take you on a journey far beyond your known reference – where his mastery of breath collides with a humble hollow tube and transforms it into an expressive organic synth and explosive drum machine.
It is really with the live stage performance that Du’s devotion to music comes to full expression. During his intense musical performances wrapped up with spoken stories of abstract but poetic worlds, the audience is invited to take a step out of the ordinary and float into the vast spaces of inner cosmic freedom full of deep echoes and images. Light contrasts with shade, raw, fast and tight counterpoints melodic and subtle, and all combines to create a unique multi-dimensional ride that will move body, mind and soul.
Manchester-based Marc Constantine plays hang drum and guitar, using live looping and effects to share songs from the heart.
Every summer since 1947 Llangollen has staged one of the world’s most inspirational cultural festivals. Each year around 4,000 performers and as many as 50,000 visitors converge on this beautiful small Welsh town and its International Pavilion; to sing and dance in a unique combination of competition, performance, and international peace and friendship.
These Northern Ireland siblings draw influences from bluegrass and folk, as well as from more progressive styles, which can be seen to reflect in their original material. Their mix of original and re-imagined traditional songs sets the ingredients for an energetic and enthusiastic performance.
Ale, cider, wine, soft and hot drinks as well as snacks on sale all evening.
For the Record a place, to play, share and talk about music

Light supper provided. Come along to suit between 6-9pm
Sit and play your music or just come along and listen.
Headliner: Steve “Big Bear” Dodd
This self-deprecating, undeniably intelligent, cuddly, beautiful, highly sexual, self-promo writing beast has been performing for over 8 years now and is hot off his Nexus Festival headline closing spot.
If you love one liners and the temperament of Jack Dee, you’ll love the Big Bear and the complete lack of enthusiasm he’ll bring to the room.
Bring a stapler as sides will be split.
