Chase away those winter blues with a beautiful walk around Chirk Castle’s award winning gardens and Pleasure Ground Wood, and see a carpet of delicate snowdrops – a sure sign that spring is on the way.
Snowdrops should be at their peak during February, but if you keep an eye on our Facebook page we will keep you up to date on their progress.
Please enter through the Ticket Office by the car park, you will be directed towards the best places to view the snowdrops. There will also be direction signs in the garden. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the gardens or Pleasure Ground Wood, but are very welcome on the rest of the estate on a lead.
Also, enjoy the early spring bulbs throughout the garden and visit the lower East Wing (timed tickets, very limited availability), Adams Tower, dungeon, shop and cafe. On weekends we will also be lighting the fire in the Woodsman’s Hut so you can warm your hands.
Please note that the main castle rooms are closed during this period for conservation. Due to limited space timed tickets (available on the day) will be needed for East Wing entry, and availability will be very limited.
Normal admission prices apply (Off-peak prices due to reduced number of rooms open). National Trust members are free. Opening will be cancelled in extreme weather conditions – please contact the property or check our website before making a long journey.
